Ali
Ali was more than a dog; she was my soul mate, my best friend, and my most cherished memory. A spunky little boxer, she loved her family so much. Her favorite adventures always started with, “Wanna go buh bye?” She loved to hang her head out the window, jowls flapping in the wind.
She loved snacks (what girl doesn’t?) and would drool over cheese and peanut butter. The drive-thru was her happy place—she knew the chicken nuggie and fries were all for her.
Her goofy personality never failed to make me smile, even on the worst days. She always knew when I needed comfort and reminded me I wasn’t alone. I’d find her lying on her back, staring at me, knowing it would stop me in my tracks to lie with her and rub her belly. Her wookie noises were the best!
The day after her 10th birthday, we discovered she had a tumor in her nasal cavity—cancer. We fought so hard for her, making sure her final days were full of joy, love, and all things “Ali.” She passed a little over a month later, and my world hasn’t been the same since.
She taught me the meaning of unconditional love. Even though she’s gone, she’s always with me. I have a beautiful tattoo that keeps her close. She was the greatest gift I’ve ever received, and I miss my sweet girl every single day.
