Between Mountains Magazine is a digital, mission-driven publication that uses storytelling, art, and regional culture to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention right here in the North Country.

The magazine's mission:

Rather than being purely news or lifestyle media, the magazine is designed to be thoughtful, reflective, and human-centered. It's a publication that encourages readers to slow down, think deeply, and recognize the emotional experiences that connect us all.

    Emily Boucher

    Emily Boucher is an emerging writer who enjoys exploring the intersection of storytelling, nerd culture, and mental health. Drawing on her own live experiences, she writes about how stories—from Tolkien to Marvel Comics—can help us make sense of anxiety, grief, and the complicated process of healing. When she’s not writing, Emily enjoys snuggling with her pit bull and spending time with her partner & friends.

  • Lorri Willette-Thatcher

    Native Adirondacker, Lorri Willett-Thatcher has been a teacher for most of her life. As a wife and mother to 3 grown children, she has shared her love of the outdoors and nature with her family.  Lorri loves camping, hiking, and kayaking in the Adirondacks. She’s a sucker for a gurgling stream, and quiet, hidden gems. You can find her looking for moose and staring up at the stars. Lorri has a blog called “The Opposite of Stuck” on Medium and is currently writing a historical novel set in the Tupper Lake area in the early 1900s.

    Brian is a certified personal trainer, coach, mentor, and writer. He lives in Plattsburgh, New York, and has contributed to Adirondack Life, BoatUS, and other magazines. He is an avid surfer, a visually impaired athlete who dreams of one day driving a Zamboni.

    Amy Guglielmo

    Amy Guglielmo is an author, artist, educator, and arts and STEAM advocate. She writes children’s books about strong, pioneering women, and artsy, innovative people. She taught high school art in the Adirondacks and is a workshop presenter and speaker. She has appeared at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Highlights Foundation, and the New York State Reading Association. She lives on the Adirondack Coast of Lake Champlain and the Pacific Coast of Mexico with her husband. She loves walking in the woods, baking treats, and doing water sports, but she hates getting her hair wet!
